my heart did flutters

neither of us teared up.
i was impressed. we were both very brave.
he ran almost every block from the park to the school.
he had a lot of nervous energy.

we got to the lobby.

he clung to my leg. my heart fluttered.
his teacher walked out and greeted him.

he looked up at me longingly. my heart fluttered.

he gripped harder and then took his teacher's hand.

my heart fluttered.

and so school begins.

That first photo is so stinkin' cute! Love that.

Do we have to do it again tomorrow?

cute photos.
hope the day wasn't as scary as he might have thought it would be.

leaving my baby is one of the reasons I'm homeschooling (minor reason of course!)....I would have been a teary eyed mess leaving him at school! :) can't believe you both did so well!

these are such great shots! love the little thumbsucking action going on there. :)

you both did well! hooray!

sidenote-- those nuclear fall out shelter signs in nyc (like the one above your school's entrance) always take me off guard when i spot them. so weird...

What a milestone! I remember having first period plan when Josh was in pre-K. He and I would sit in the front office and then I would drop him off before I started second period. Laurie used to look at us sitting in the breakroom together and remind me to enjoy my time with him because it would go by too fast. He's in middle school now and I understand what she meant. Don't blink.
