our christmas tree


i got our tree on saturday - not totally a charlie brown christmas tree but close. we decorated today after having a bunch of fun yesterday at church making our advent wreath. we even did the little lighting song & prayer last night with the galts. but today, we cleaned up the house and decorated. we put the tree up, added the ornaments (micah is really into snowmen right now... apparently i am too but didn't realize it until i starting taking out all my xmas decorations and had a TON of snowmen), and added some tinsel around the house. we have had the christmas music going for almost a week now since i have been doing some sewing for the holidays - now, don't confuse me with some crafty person.... just trying to be cost-efficient. in terms of holiday music, might i highly recommend sufjan steven's xmas albums. we had an early copy last christmas but have been listen to it almost exclusive this year thanks to rhapsody.com (on-line music). it is actually two cds.....

by the way, three weeks to go!!!

THREE WEEKS!!! WOW! Are you ready! How fun! He will be a Christmas baby! Do you feel like Mary? I laughed about your comment about snowmen and unwrapping Christmas stuff. I always greet my ornaments like old friends who I havent seen in awhile. Kaitlin and I talk about what ornaments were from whom and how silly I wrote my name on the bottem of the ornament at age 10 back in 1976. Its a precious story that unfolds every year and gets added onto at the en do fthe season. On the flip side, last year I tossed out alot of Christmas CRAP and feel all the better for it. Did I really need that precious moments manger scene?Ugh...that was so done in 1980. MUAH to you sweet friend. I love you!

Micah is a little man!! I haven't seen him since he came to visit San Diego and he was a baby. Now he is a little man, where did the time go? He is growing up so fast, slow him down - Bud

and we will be out numbered....

as of monday, i am through my first trimester with sweet baby #3. the sweet children will out number the adults come the beginning of march. as john likes to comment about my day to day coping skills, "her body is betraying her" as i adjust to pregnancy and surviving with two small children. i still can't find our flash drive to upload pictures....i'll work on it. it requires clearing off the computer desk which exists in the middle of the living room due to the plaster/drywall work being done to patch up the hole from the toilet leak. supposedly the new hardwood floors are supposed to arrive this week.....which means we could potentially move out of the office and back into our bedroom in a couple of weeks!!! the small pleasures in life!

more tidbits

i find it interesting....... .......how the two boys are in sync already. apparently we had not weathered the worst of operation big boy-no paci....he cried for almost an hour. what we thought would be an early bedtime was not....then asher (who was supposed to sleep until 2) woke up at midnight only to be followed by big brother 10 minutes later "scared." .......how 20 & 30 years olds (including myself) walk around the locker room delicately covered up by the towel that is slightly too small to cover my rumpus..... and yet the 50 & 60 years old strut around with no shame. nora ephron claims that the things that we things we hate about out bodies in our 20s will be the things we long for in our 50s. funny how that works...maybe i'll lose my abandon and sit in the sauna naked as a jaybird..... naw!!! .......how fun sitting on the kitchen counter while daddy cooks is for a two year old. .......how much i want to cut my hair. .......how excited i am to have gott...
