confessions of a sugar addict
what can i say, but it is my mother-in-law's fault. she bought the first bag and now i can't seem to get enough. i dream of it, salivate for it, and exhaust my bank account for it (okay, not the last bit)...what is it? TWIZZLERS. the devil's candy. seriously, i could eat a 1lb bag in a single day....if i had no restraint - which i do but only in tiny amounts. i just can't seem to get enough of those stupid red vines of delicious yumminess. if only they had RED VINES out here....i would so be in trouble.
oh, and i made dinner tonight. new recipe: "chicken cacciatora, new version" (page 331). i did not do a whole chicken - only the breast. but it was tasty with the plum tomatoes and cooked onion. i think it went well with the side dish of noodles and salad. of course, i was able to do this because i had a friend visiting when it was time to start dinner prep. as i am finding with my fabulous book of recipes, the recipe itself is pretty simple....just a bit on the time consuming part. like this recipe, for instance, is only 6 ingredients but it takes just over an hour to cook. you do have to saute the onion, flip the chicken, cook down the wine, and so forth... but still a tasty meal. now if i can just get the kitchen cleaned up with newbie crying in the background, hubbie out for the evening, and toddler talking himself to sleep....all while slipping myself a few of the good stuff... twizzlers.
