weekend of movies.

unfortunately, i am still having trouble posting pictures...any help out there why?
friday night: junebug
saturday: devil wears prada
sunday night: kiss, kiss, bang, bang
monday: children of men

all very different...all very enjoyable.
  • junebug was a bit strange; very little resolution. amy adams did do a superb job and was very worthy of that oscar nomination last year.
  • devil wears prada...no i did not make john sit through this with me. i read the book & found it to be a bit annoying....the movie was more enjoyable - less of a time commitment.
  • kiss, kiss, bang, bang....loved it. found it funny, intelligent & entertaining. robert downey, jr was a riot.... and john did not figure it out - which is a huge thing for him cuz he usually has the "whodunit" part of the movie before the opening credits are done.
  • children of men....we actually saw a movie in the theater!!! we have not done that together sine may. for us, that is a long time without seeing a movie together. john read the book by pd james over xmas. while the movie was very different from the book, we both enjoyed the movie (sort of)......but were intrigued by the story & it was well done. it was well acted and that whole thing. john did say that the book was more philosophical where the movie was more political. it was nice to get out and have the whole theater experience that john & i love....popcorn & a coke & skittles.... does it get better?!

We haven't been in forever either. I think we saw Narnia last Christmas... We have big plans to babysit swap with the Walfords!

and we will be out numbered....

as of monday, i am through my first trimester with sweet baby #3. the sweet children will out number the adults come the beginning of march. as john likes to comment about my day to day coping skills, "her body is betraying her" as i adjust to pregnancy and surviving with two small children. i still can't find our flash drive to upload pictures....i'll work on it. it requires clearing off the computer desk which exists in the middle of the living room due to the plaster/drywall work being done to patch up the hole from the toilet leak. supposedly the new hardwood floors are supposed to arrive this week.....which means we could potentially move out of the office and back into our bedroom in a couple of weeks!!! the small pleasures in life!

more tidbits

i find it interesting....... .......how the two boys are in sync already. apparently we had not weathered the worst of operation big boy-no paci....he cried for almost an hour. what we thought would be an early bedtime was not....then asher (who was supposed to sleep until 2) woke up at midnight only to be followed by big brother 10 minutes later "scared." .......how 20 & 30 years olds (including myself) walk around the locker room delicately covered up by the towel that is slightly too small to cover my rumpus..... and yet the 50 & 60 years old strut around with no shame. nora ephron claims that the things that we things we hate about out bodies in our 20s will be the things we long for in our 50s. funny how that works...maybe i'll lose my abandon and sit in the sauna naked as a jaybird..... naw!!! .......how fun sitting on the kitchen counter while daddy cooks is for a two year old. .......how much i want to cut my hair. .......how excited i am to have gott...
